About Mike Frazier.
Mike Frazier is a Shelbyville native, who spent several years in the newsroom before entering the courtroom.
His father and grandfather published the Shelbyville Daily Union newspaper for many decades, and Mike worked as a journalist before attending law school.
Mike earned a law degree, cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 2011. While in law school, he served as editor-in-chief of Illinois Law Update, a monthly column for Illinois Bar Journal.
Mike also earned a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Illinois College of Media in 2002, where he wrote a capstone project exploring the history of Shelby County.
Mike also earned a bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, in philosophy and religion from Millikin University in 1999. At Millikin, Mike received a Humanities Fellowship Award from Associated Colleges of Illinois for research and scholarship in religion.
As a journalist, Mike wrote about local government, crime and courts for several Central Illinois newspapers. He received numerous industry and civic awards for newspaper reporting.
In recent years, Mike has worked as a general practice attorney in Shelbyville. His practice includes criminal, civil and juvenile matters, and he was recognized by Dove Inc. for his legal advocacy.
Mike lives in Shelbyville and is a member and past vice-president of the Shelby County Bar Association.
