
About Dustin.
Dustin L. Probst was born and raised in Shelby County on a livestock and grain farm. He graduated from Stewardson-Strasburg High School in 2002. Upon graduation he attended Lake Land College where he earned an Associate’s degree in Conservation Pre-Forestry and also became certified as a licensed EMT-B, graduating Suma Cum Laude in 2004.
Thereafter, Dustin attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology, graduating Cum Laude in 2006.
Dustin further attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale School of Law where he earned his law degree and graduated with Cum Laude honors in 2011.
He was admitted to the Illinois Supreme Court Bar in 2011 and immediately thereafter began working for Dove & Dove, Attorneys at Law, and was named Partner in 2018. He is admitted to practice before all state and appellate courts in Illinois and has experience handling appeals before the 4th District and 5th District Appellate Court. On of Dustin’s greatest honors is having been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States of America on June 7, 2021.
His practice consists of the general practice of law and civil litigation across Central and Southern Illinois. His areas of focus include contested and uncontested probate, criminal law, estate planning, contested property litigation, real estate transactions, divorce, and parenting issues (formally known as custody).
He also works with Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation to provide pro bono legal services for members of the community.
He is an active member of the Stewardson Fire and Ambulance Protection District where he volunteers as a Firefighter and EMT-B. Through the Protection District he not only serves as an active EMT-B, but is also the appointed Ambulance Coordinator for the Protection District. He is also a member of the Effingham Knights of Columbus, Shelby County Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and traveling with his family.
Dustin currently resides in rural Stewardson, Illinois, with his wife (Morgan) and daughter (Blake). He attends St. Michael’s Catholic Church, in Sigel, Illinois.
