We would like to welcome our new associate attorney, Ruth A. Woolery, to Dove & Dove, Attorneys at Law.
Ruth received her Bachelor of Arts degree in German and Political Science from the University of Illinois in 2003. After spending some time at home raising her four children, Ruth began attending the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law in 2014. In 2017 she received her law degree, graduating cum laude, and after successfully passing the Missouri bar exam, immediately began practicing law in the Kansas City, Missouri area.
During law school, Ruth was a member of the negotiation team, with a focus on alternative dispute resolution, and completed a judicial externship with Senior Judge Fernando J. Gaitan, Jr. of the Federal District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
After moving to Shelbyville, Illinois this past June, Ruth immediately began working at Dove & Dove and was officially sworn in to the Illinois State Bar on November 7, 2019.
Ruth is an active member of the Shelby County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association where she was a member of the 2018 Bar Leadership Academy. She is also an active member of the Greater Shelbyville Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Chamber Board of Directors. Her practice is currently concentrated in the general practice of law and civil litigation, including, divorce, child custody, adoption, real estate transactions, contested property litigation, estate planning, and probate.
Ruth is married to Nathan Woolery who is currently serving as the sole pastor to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville. Much of their free time is spent attending their kids’ sporting events, band concerts, and dance competitions.
Ruth has been admitted to practice law in the states of Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas.
